Awards

I reserved this page to remind me why I blog in the first place and kept doing so day after day, it is because there are so many supportive book bloggers out there that has encouraged and supported me through my journey to become a better reader.

I don’t always remember to pass the award to another person, I am grateful to the people who have given me these awards in the first place.

2010 Awards

On February 2010, Jessica of Bookworm Chronicle said “This blog is a treasure trove of in-depth book reviews of which I haven’t even made a dint into reading all there is to find here.” See here for full text.

I was and still am extremely happy with the first award received ever and it means a lot to be awarded as prolific blogger.

April 5, 2010 – Joanne P of Bookloverbookreviews gave me these two wonderful awards and introduced 7 favourite things about her. Thank you so much Joanne. For full text see  here.
May 5, 2010, I received the Happy 101 from Jacq (or Zja Zja) from bookbitesoz. It is indeed an honour and I thank you. For full text see here.
2012 Award
Thanks to  Jessica of bookwormchronicles I received the Versatile Blogger Award again. It is always nice being nominated for one!
Jackie made my day when my blog was mentioned on the BBAW Appreciation Week 2012 : Farmlanebooks “my favourite book blogs”
Jackie said:
Jo writes the most amazing reviews. She combines facts about the author with maps and historical detail to give background for each book she reads. She also happens to have a reading taste almost identical to mine and so I trust her opinion entirely.
Tze-Wen of Chinoiseries mentioned me on the same day at Chinoiseries: bbaw 2012 day 1 appreciate and has said this about me and my blog:
I really like Joanna. Not only is she an inventive book blogger, who tries to come up with new appealing formats and always adds in-depth background information to her reviews, she also writes very thoughtful reviews. I love the fact that she writes about all kinds of different books, mostly from the literary fiction genre, and I have often found myself filing away one or two of her choices to my to-read list. She is also a really nice person, whom I can get all Chinese movie/music geeky with.

  1. Egads! I feel embarrassed to add ‘yet another bloggers award’… however do want to say how much I appreciate your book reviews. So… here goes… “SHINE ON!” http://everydayadventuresasia.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/shine-on-award/

Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking. - Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)
